Forgotten Movies: The Good Humor Man

As you can see from this post, I'm a fan of this movie. It's slapstick all the way, but, hey, it's a crime movie, and when I was a kid I thought it was hilarious. I still like it, and the best part of the movie's not included in the trailer. "Niatpac Levram!" I can say no more.

Okay. This is complex and fairly pointless, but I'll say it anyway:

When I was 14 Comics Fandom was just getting started and Old Comics ("Golden Age") were a near-mythic commodity, not the much-
reprinted/available on-line convenience they are today.

In that atmosphere, GOOD HUMOR MAN, with it's "Captain Marvel" references, was a real cult item, a film to be wartched greedily on the rare oiccadsions it turned up on television, usually chopped up for commercials.

Watching it lately, it still has the charm of those old days and a patina of I-don't-know-what, but I find it irresistable

I picked up a VHS tape years ago, and I'm glad I did.
