As a lush, filmed-on-location Cinemascope romance, this movie is hard to beat -- it's quite enjoyable. It also has a special significance for a menswear aficionado such as me, because William Holden's threads are out of this world, and he wears them dashingly. I used to have foreign correspondent fantasies based on films like this and Hitchcock's "Foreign Correspondent."
