I had a Judee Sill album back in the day, and the Hollies did a haunting version of her song "Jesus Was A Cross Maker." Drugs and associated hard-living did her in--as it did a number of the singers on the list. Recognition isn't just a matter of talent, luck plays a part--and it's hard to take advantage of luck when you're stoned all the time.

I never heard f any of them,and I was alert to singers then.
Never heard of any of them, either. I thought the list was going to have someone like Bobby Sherman on it. Not that he would have been my choice.
