IMHO, the best crime drama series ever on TV.

So Niebhur has finally gotten away from the weird found art posts. Good.

This is a strange post from Gary. He doesn't mention (unless I missed it) and seems unaware of the fact that the series was based on the 1948 feature film of the same name, starring Barry Fitzgerald as Muldoon & Don Taylor as Halloran. The film, directed by Jules Dassin, was much praised for its location shooting in New York. Same voice-over narration, same "8 million stories" tagline. It shows up on TCM with some frequency. It's a cool movie, but I can't stand the way Fitzgerald lays on the Irish cute with a shovel - this ain't Going My Way.

As many movies as Gary watches, you'd think he'd be aware of that one.
