Kids still jump rope in New York.

Over 20 years ago, my husband and I were driving from L.A. to Tulsa, and we got off the interstate in either Arizona or New Mexico and drove along Route 66 for a while. There were Burma Shave signs, but obviously added for nostalgia value, not originals.

Jeff, I remember when you could buy a Checker car, or I think I do.

Deb, I loved those signs when I was a kid. I always wanted to steal a set, and I'm sorry I didn't. There's a good book about them, The Verse by the Side of the Road.

A company was advertising replaces of Burman Shave Signs a while back, but I didn't buy the sets. Where would I put them (sigh)? I remember reading them on the road between Wichita Falls and Seymour when I was a kid.
