Thinking a $2 is counterfeit is bad enough (although a 1953 $2 in good condition is probably worth more than $2, btw). But the apparently non-race-neutral way in which these things seem to have happened is deplorable.

But not surprising.

I read this story this morning--not sure if it's the same source as your link goes to, but an even worse story was in the same article: a 13-year old is facing a felony conviction for paying for his lunch with a counterfeit $10. Aside from if he even knew the bill was counterfeit, a 13-year old charged with a felony? What in the heck are we doing to our young people??
