Peru Update

Temple built 4,000 years ago unearthed in Peru | Reuters: "LIMA (Reuters) - A 4,000-year-old temple filled with murals has been unearthed on the northern coast of Peru, making it one of the oldest finds in the Americas, a leading archaeologist said on Saturday.

The temple, inside a larger ruin, includes a staircase that leads up to an altar used for fire worship at a site scientists have called Ventarron, said Peruvian archaeologist Walter Alva, who led the dig.

It sits in the Lambayeque valley, near the ancient Sipan complex that Alva unearthed in the 1980s. Ventarron was built long before Sipan, about 2,000 years before Christ, he said."

Fire worship. That's a polite euphemism for butchering 11 year old girls after Catholic Priesting them for a few days. We call them serial killers today. But in the world of archeology we call them Early Cultures. And speak highly, and with a kind of reverential cast of the voice, of their magnificent achievements in stone stacking.

They weren't into human sacrifice in Peru, or at least not in the cultures I'm familiar with. But I don't know about this one.

(Chavin,Huari, Caral, Moche, Tiahuanaco, Inka, etc.) in Peru and in other places deserve admiration or whatever you want to call it, judging them by the standards of 4000 yrs ago or more. But, right now I don't think you can judge anything with 4th grade reading skills and general culture (by 2007 'American' standards).Sorry =)

jj solari you should retake 10th grade global history before making such ignorant statements. Also you should get a dictionary to learn the difference between mud brick and stone. If Pre-Hispanic Peruvian cultures hadn't magnificent achievements MIT wouldn't study their suspension bridges and Israel wouldn't copy their agricultural irrigation systems. I believe ancient cultures /civilizations
