My favorites were Red Dawn and the aforementioned To Wang Foo. I remember the first time I saw him was in the M*A*S*H episode as the character with leukemia more concerned with his wounded friend.

He will be missed.

Not many people know that several years and several pounds ago, Patrick Swayze and I were "extras" in a performance of Swan Lake by American Ballet Theatre. In those days, everyone knew him as "Buddy." We talked a lot back then about our lives and our hopes for a career. Buddy, being very talented, became a famous dancer and movie star. I, being less talented, eventually had to settle for a PhD in mathematics. Buddy will be missed by all who knew him, just as all who knew him are, I'm sure, very proud of what he accomplished.

I'm one of the few who knew. I wish there were video of those days.
