Alfred Hitchcock classic to be remade for teenagers | Movies News | NME.COM: "Alfred Hitchcock's classic Strangers On A Train is to be remade into a thriller for teenagers. Titled Teens On A Train, the film will take Patricia Highsmith's novel as its starting point, but will be tweaked significantly with Deadline.com reporting that in the new version, 'boy meets girl, girl turns out to be raving psychopath'."

Ahem, "boy meets girl, girl turns out to be raving psychopath" - that's not a remake of "Strangers on a Train", that's a remake of "Detour".

...or many, many others. But certainly not a remake of STRANGERS ON A TRAIN. Btw, DETOUR came up because I happened to see it again tonight. Great movie. The quality/budget ratio is probably unbeatable.

What makes people think they can exploit or improve on a classic? Remember the remake of SCARLET LETTER by Nathaniel Hawthorne? The minister was the hero in that remake. Give me a break!
