I recently saw "Born Yesterday" at the Cort and fell for Ms. Arianda, but even after all these years have yet to see the movie version with Judy Holliday. (Started typing "Billie" - yeesh.)
But I've always heard good things about it and especially her, so I feel safe in suggesting that should be in the list.
Definitely should have included "12 Angry Men" though. My only quibblle with "Arsenic and Old Lace" would be that they should have waited unti Karloff was available.....

Nos. 8-10 resonated most with me. The 1974 remake (The Front Page) of #9 was pretty good too.

PROOF the film would've benefited by retaining Mary Louise Parker from the stage. And...and...
Some good choices there, but why limit it to eight?

Why ten choices if they say eight?
Why no musicals? Oklahoma. South Pacific. The Sound of Music. Nowhere does it say only dramas . . .
And don't forget The Cat and The Canary, that great Bob Hope classic, which started out as a play.

There have of course been many Shakespeare adaptions, and I'm surprised that FORBIDDEN PLANET was not mentioned. Or THRONE OF BLOOD, for that matter.
