Image released COMIN AT YA on DVD a few years ago with 3D glasses included. I thought the 3D was pretty good, and probably comparable to the theatrical presentation, which I also saw way back when, but I'm not as picky about 3D quality as others may be. I'd heard that Tony Anthony was re-releasing the film with some retooling of the 3D. I saw PARASITE in the theater only because it preceded a sneak preview of CONAN THE BARBARIAN, and I figured I'd get a seat for CONAN early. Around the time JAWS 3D was released, the studio made a syndication deal with (I think) 7-11 to promote the movie by running CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON on local TV stations in 3D; you got the glasses from your local 7-11.
I got one of the worst migraines I've ever had watching "Jaws 3 in 3-D." In those pre-Imitrex days, I ended up having to go to the E.R. for a shot of demerol. God, my temples are throbbing now just thinking about it.
I remember seeing a double-bill of Andy Warhol's "Dracula" and "Frankenstein" that were in 3-D, but that might have been in the 1970s. The decades seem to pile up these days.
Deb, yeah, the two "Warhol" movies were released in the '70s -- '74 and '75, I believe. They're actually pretty good. I never saw 'em in the theater, and the Image DVD releases are in plain old 2D, so I'm not sure how good the 3D effects were.
