There are plenty of Native American actors who could play this role...even if they're Canadian like Jay Silverheels was. Adam Beach comes to mind immediately.
I have a sneaking suspicion that this version of The Lone Ranger should really be titled "Tonto and the White Guy in the Mask."

I'm already missing Klinton Spilsbury and Michael Horse. Actually, Horse was pretty good in his later role on TWIN PEAKS.
