These were in mainstream magazines in the '50s.  Now they're barely safe for work.

Hm. I'd say these and the Maidenform ads were among those pushing the envelopes (tenting the pants, what have you) for the era...I'm rather surprised how common nudity was in interior and cover illustration throughout the century...what, one wonders, was so very startling about, say, PLAYBOY after all those Vargas spreads in ESQUIRE, and not a few of the photos there and in more "family-oriented" magazines...
