A Forgotten Series

 Old Favorites: Katherine Kurtz’s Deryni

It's been too long since the last Deryni book came out - unless I haven't been paying attention. A great series with a level of detail in religious-based magic which I never tired of. Powerful writing to bring so many characters to life and there were several passages which made me wince with the grisly details so explicitly conveyed. I've often thought some network with the freedom to do such a long-form fantasy should take a shot at recreating the world of Gwynedd and St. Camber....

Kurtz was a GoH at an AggieCon long ago, and I got a couple of my books signed. Too bad HBO picked GRRM's series instead of hers.

Fritz Leiber found some of the same problems with her novels that the HUFFPOST guy did with King, in one of his more extensive "Fantasy Books" essays in FANTASTIC back when. I've barely read her, myself.

I've read only the two I got signed, and that was long ago.
