I have a problem with #12 unless they've changed it.

#19 claims that Glen Campbell "wrote a song about Galveston." Well, he SANG a song about Galveston, so I guess that's close enough.

/Fact-checking--how does it work?

That's almost as bad as #12.

What's wrong with #12?

Maybe I'm just quibbling, but "hundreds of Texan defenders were killed" sounds wrong to me. I think it was under 200.

I've been on the Alamo tour and if you're expecting to see the basement, forget it.

Is Pee Wee Herman's bicycle still there?

I'm almost certain, but I guess we'll never know.

Wikipedia: "Most eyewitness accounts reported between 182 and 257 Texians died, while most historians of the Alamo agree that around 600 Mexicans were killed or wounded. Several noncombatants were sent to Gonzales to spread word of the Texian defeat."

"Texian" is what Wikipedia says, not me.

Texian was the word used in those days. I've always believed in the 182 figure.

"Galveston," of course, like most of Glen Campbell's hits, was written by Jimmy Webb...
